godaddyGoDaddy has released 3 shared hosting plans to run a site, which are named as Economy, Deluxe, and Ultimate, and priced at $6.99/mo, $8.99/mo and $14.99/mo. Now, to promote the services, the company is offering 28%, 33%, and 50% discount respectively for the 3 plans. After the discount, the effective price is cut down to $4.99/mo, $5.99/mo and $7.99/mo.

Among the hundreds of hosting plans we have reviewed, the 3 GoDaddy packages are not very affordable.

As one of the largest hosting companies, GoDaddy offers customers a lot of features to run websites well, including unlimited bandwidth, and cPanel that enables customers to manage every aspect of their accounts effortlessly and have access to all the hosting features and settings they need. More outstanding features are listed as below.

  • A free domain name for the yearly billing.
  • Fast, expert setup with exclusive Hosting Concierge.
  • Latest blogging technology.
  • Daily backup & state-of-the-art security.
  • 24×7 phone and email support.
  • Plentiful free templates, plugins, and themes, all of which are ready-made and easy to install.

GoDaddy does perfectly on domain name registration and hosting uptime. The company guarantees at least 99.9% uptime for customers to run websites, and it hasn’t disappointed anyone about this. They have invested a lot of money in building 9 data centers to provide customers with solid uptime which is better than what they guarantee.

As for speed, GoDaddy makes people a little frustrated. We have found thousands of complaints on the slowness of the web hosting service on the Internet. Besides, we have set up a website speed monitoring for our 2 sites hosted with GoDaddy and another 2 hosted with Arvixe for 2 years. In this period, the sites hosted with Arvixe have been running much faster than those hosted with GoDaddy. The following chart shows the server response time of the 2 hosting companies.

Technical Support

Owing a powerful technical support team, GoDaddy provides a high standard of customer support via telephone and email. The support staffs are so professional, experienced, proficient in web hosting and on-site 24×7 that they are able to give quick response and instant assistance to troubled customers. However, the company doesn’t offer support through live chat.

Besides, the technicians and engineers have worked out a pile of in-depth articles and detailed video tutorials to help customers know more about the hosting and teach them to deal with common issues independently.

In general, GoDaddy hosting is a good choice for people desiring beautiful and impressive domains. However, it is not recommended for those who want a mass of server resources and fast speed at a low price.

Based on our real experience and thousands of customer reviews, we have found that there are many hosting solutions that come with low price, rich server resources, excellent uptime, fast speed and quality technical support, among which BlueHost, InMotion Hosting and HostGator are highly recommended.
